The wand and the sty

The island of Aeaea. Eurylochus leads twenty-two men to the palace of polished stone; mountain wolves and lions come out to fawn on them like dogs, the place's first transformed. Inside, Circe sings at a loom and serves them cheese, barley, honey and wine laced with a drug.
